TNF antibodies

The tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily (TNFSF) of cytokines and TNF receptor superfamily (TNFRSF) display diverse physiological functions and play critical roles in the development and homeostasis of the immune-, nervous-, and musculoskeletal-systems in mammals. Abnormal expression of TNF family cytokines or their receptors has been linked to a host of major human diseases including arthritis, psoriasis, osteoporosis, and cancer (Reference 1, see below). Elevated localized expression of TNFα (TNF alpha) has been shown to be one of the underlying causes for various autoimmune and inflammatory disorders such as psoriasis and arthritis. Biologic therapies blocking TNFα such as TNFRII-Fc (Etanercept with the brand name Enbrel marketed by Amgen) currently represent one of the largest-selling class of blockbuster drugs globally.

GenHunter has 3 TNFRII monoclonal antibodies (a neutralizing mAb and 2 binding mAbs) recognizing Etanercept as well as a recombinant human TNFR2-Fc fusion protein.
